So you spent the day shooting your SD9VE. You put about 200 rounds through your pistol. Your throw the gun back in its case, and let it rest until the next time you go out and shoot.

If you don’t already know, this is bad practice. As a result of these habits, your setting yourself up for malfunctions, rust, and fouling buildup within your chamber and barrel of your pistol.

Good practice in cleaning your pistol is ESPECIALLY important if you’re using your gun as a self defense weapon. If you talk to law enforcement, they will tell you they clean their pistol after every shooting session. One great quote that comes to mind is, “Clean your gun like your life depends on it.”

“But i don’t know how to clean my pistol” some will say. Or, “I just don’t have the tools to do the cleaning” others may say.
